Chanel & McQueen Heaven

Photobucket
This is my 100th post so I decided to wait for Chanel & Alexader McQueen collections to make it like a celebratory post. Well first of Chanel, I feel like most of the collections this season besides a couple are decent collection like they're okay not the best thing from the designer and sadly Mr. Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel collection is under that list. I thought the collection was alright the pieces seemed to be all over the place but yet he still manages to make them seem Chanel worthy. The details are great and the combination of edgy girl and lady like girl. Like stated before this isn't his best but there are still pieces to die for like those sweater dressing that I absolutely adore.

Oh Alexander Lee McQueen how you are missed, after seeing his couture pieces and how they had been finished for him I wanted to see how the collection would be and if they could make it feel like an Alexander McQueen collection and honestly I think they did indeed. The pieces are art work and are just breath taking all the dresses and gowns make my fashion heart skip a beat I felt the collection was very magical almost as if McQueen was saying I have passed away but here is my baby take care of it fashion world. Truly amazing thank you Sarah Burton you have made Alexander McQueen very happy in fashion heaven and the rest of teh fashion world truly content as well.

Dolce and Gabbana's flower fields

Photobucket
Sorry again for my lack of post an unexpected vacation opportunity was given and I could not pass it up. Dolce and Gabbana of course is always as amazing and beautiful as always. The design house celebrated their 25th anniversary with this collection. When I first looked at it I got a deja vu from last collection but looking more at the details I realized it brought beauty of its own. The lace is beautiful and I like the fact that they used mostly white and certain pieces contained floral patterns which is very refreshing for spring and summer. Have you noticed that many designers opted for a refreshing palette this season. Overall I am very content with this collection. I am anxiously waiting for Paris Fashion Week.

Gucci Safari Outing

Photobucket
I realized that most of the time the reviews I give on collections I like, so I decided to maybe give another point if view of mines. Gucci ss11 is not my favorite Gucci collection at all. I felt the collection wasn't the best from Frida Gianna the genius behind Gucci. The color blocking wasn't the best some of the safari pieces seem like they were out of place. Most of the time I have a million and one favorite looks from the collection and this time I only liked five and that was after much and much looking over the collection. Truth is this isn't the worst collection because of course it still has it's beauty but it isn't by far the the best one. That's why there are new seasons to start from scratch in case last season didn't cut it.

Burberry's Rock and Roll

Burberry being the classic it is I always love seeing what Christopher Bailey has done to reinvent the beautiful clothes. This season was tons and tons of colors and not only that but also animal print which of course has been very popular for the last few seasons that have passed. First of all the dresses that he pairs with the motorcycle jackets are amazing he certainly has a gift for draping I don't think any woman in the world would be able to resist one of his wonderful dresses. Also the jackets which Burberry is famous for, he always finds a way of reinventing it. He sticks with the aesthetics but some how manages to switch the looks. This was a very good collection, I love the addition of color in contrast with last seasons hues, but I did love last seasons boots and nothing can replace my love for those boots.

Marc Jacobs' time travelers

Photobucket
Marc Jacobs skipped the 60's this season and went straight to the 70's, with high waisted pant, big hair, bright colors, high waisted short, and long floor length dresses. Everything about this collection is Big I guess Marc's motto this season was go big or go home. Even though I thought the collection was nice, I still love some of the past collection even more like the s/s 10 collection and f/w 10.

Proenza Schouler's Universe

As soon as I saw the show last night I needed the HQ pictures for Proenza Schouler. The boys are geniuses seriously, were do I even begin here I love absolutely everything I couldn't even pick between the pictures. This collection is for the Proenza girl to be a bit more elegant I guess you could say. The pencil skirts with the tweed like Chanel jackets are perfect for more serious occasion. The skirts that are made of suede I believe are probably one of my favorite pieces and paired with the long sleeved button up shirt it's perfect. Also of you saw the shows most of the dresses and some shirts expose the back which I find extremely sexy. I could go on and on about how much I am in love with this collection, but I won't bore you to death. Anyone by just looking can see how utterly magnificent this collection is everything about it is just plain beautiful. I think this is my favorite collection so far.

Alexander Wang's white sky

Finally I get around to my Alexander Wang review. When I first saw the collection I didn't know what to think about it, kind of why I took forever to write the review. First off the obvious there is no black! Coming from the designer that most collections are dark colors it was a bit refreshing seeing the all this white. I wasn't the biggest fan of the fall collection but I like this one not love it like S/S 2010 because that was probably love at first sight with wang. I love the fabric he used for his dresses it makes them flowy like a lot of the other collections I been seeing but the fabric makes it stand apart. The sweaters of course Wang specialty are as magnificent as always. The shoes are amazing, I am positive hollywood will be flooded with them by december, if i could just get my hands on one pair my life would be completed. After much overlooking it and reading others reviews I come to the conclusion that I actually quite like this collection, another great job by Alexander Wang. On another note did anyone watch the Proenza Schouler show tonight? I forgot to mention it, well if you did watch it did you think it was a piece of heaven? I can't wait for the HQ pictures so I can flood my blog with them of course the boys from Proenza are fashion geniuses.
